Swept curve — per-joint cut list
For a curve whose bend changes along its length (an upswept or flared eave), there's no single miter. Quick mode needs just three numbers — run, rise, and the pitch of the rake it blends into. Detailed mode takes a table of measured heights for odd profiles. Either way you get a per-joint cut list.
Measure the curve
Run and rise are the two ends of the curve; top slope is the rake it merges into — read it straight off your speed square in degrees, or enter it as a roof pitch. Use the /12 · deg toggle to match. The bottom is assumed to blend flat out of the soffit.
Fitted curve, split into pieces
| Piece | Length | Bottom end | Top end |
|---|
How to read it: lay pieces bottom to top. Each interior joint is shared — the top end of one piece and the bottom end of the next are cut to the same angle so they meet flush. The two outer ends are square: the bottom meets the flat run, the top butts into the straight rake. All bevels face the same way (the concave side) unless the diagram shows the curve reversing.
